WINTER STORM DAMAGE

It has been a week to remember! Many of our neighbors have just dug themself out of what is now their second "storm of the century", to find an ominous wreckage of limbs. Forest monarchs leaning and congresses of trees they have known for decades had succumbed to the storm. Some had downed power lines and trapped vehicles, others burst pipes or crushed homes. In some areas, no household was spared in what the county supervisor has declared a disaster. Things we take for granted like electricity, warm running water, heat, or our freedom to move about now gone, or taking up space and time, and additional resources. We, however, are a resilient bunch and blessed with firewood to boot!

A gift in the slow silence is the time to reflect, and wonder what lessons we might bring into our daily lives from this time. At Chase, we snapped into action and fanned out our crew on a volunteer basis, as is needed in an emergency.

Clearing, plowing, yarding logs, and making short work of big timber to keep the roads open. Every neighbor we met had a story or some need as yet unmet, and one led to another. So we started generators for some, re hung and made safe power lines for others, shuttled medical batteries to those on life support and gasoline and water to elders trapped in their homes caught unprepared, plowed out first responders and teachers and grocery workers and widened roads. Everywhere we went During the storm, neighbors were helping neighbors, and the roadblocks were removed by our strong and able community. We hope you found time to be with your loved ones and got to know your neighbors a little better, and on some level remember the sundrenched beauty left in the storm's wake.

As you begin to dig yourself out and assess what the challenges you might have in the yard for the year ahead, please keep us in mind for all of your needs. We have crews, climbers, cranes, and equipment that haul and eat hazard trees for breakfast, and are a lot more affordable than you might think. We are currently running a special of 10% off for neighbor referrals within the hardest-hit areas we hope to be your resource.
